I finally got it to work. I installed Microsoft's SideWinder gamepad 4.0 driver and used Control Panel to detect it. Now I can fly without being hated in BF2. w00t!

does anyone know of any homebrew drivers or fixes/hacks to get the sidewinder precision pro joystick to run with windows XP? I have heard of using Serial to USB adapters, but i am wondering if there is a better way to do it. Thanks in advance! :)

I was also thinking of adding some swiffer pad material to my filter if it's breathable enough...just to snag all the dust. Do you know if the factory filter is any good? Also, weill that static properties of the swiffer...

I am writing an app that spawns several instances of another program to manipulate USB devices. My main program needs to wait on the children to finish each 'round' before it can start the next one. I can successfully spawn the apps, but all the output is written to the parent console...

I'd also check out the actual connection to your mobo. take out the cards(with ESD precations of course) and give the connector a wipe and blow out the slot. That *might* fix the problem
not to ask a stupid question, but are you doing any overclocking of any kind? I once had some pretty nifty artifact problems because I was overclocking.
