I finally got it to work. I installed Microsoft's SideWinder gamepad 4.0 driver and used Control Panel to detect it. Now I can fly without being hated in BF2. w00t! Thanks for all the help everyone! My beautiful Joystick is back in business! :D

Hi There, does anyone know of any homebrew drivers or fixes/hacks to get the sidewinder precision pro joystick to run with windows XP? I have heard of using Serial to USB adapters, but i am wondering if there is a better way to do it. Thanks in advance! :)

I'd also check out the actual connection to your mobo. take out the cards(with ESD precations of course) and give the connector a wipe and blow out the slot. That *might* fix the problem

not to ask a stupid question, but are you doing any overclocking of any kind? I once had some pretty nifty artifact problems because I was overclocking.
