Im having the same problem. I dont really feel comfterable disbaling my Norton firewall though. Isnt there some sort of setting that can be changed to fix this problem?

something similar happend to me onec, all i had to do to fix it was remove the ram and then plug it back firmly in the slot. computer booted up perfectly then...

I have the HIS IceQ 9800 Pro 256 version, and i succesfully flasahes it to a "real" XT. No question you should get HIS, cause of the perfect cooling system, but whether to get the 128 or 256 version is up to you. OC capability is great on both, but for true XT youll need the 256 version. Good...

The extra 256 of RAM wont increase your performance a 1/4 of what a 6800GT would go out an buy it. Dont worry about your cpu and RAM. My rig is similar (Athlon XP 2800+, 512 RAM) and I recently went from a GeForce 5200fx to a 9800 XT... and my video card is still the bottleneck of my system...

i have a very similar system. So if i were u i would definetly consider getting the 9800 pro and oc´ing it to 9800 xt speed. Its not really that expensive... plus consider selling ur 9600 on ebay or something.. As for RAM 512 mb is fine for now. Really most games dont take up all of the 512...
