Crypto could use gaming gpu's, AI mostly can't so it's much better then crypto as no one is going to be buying the gpu's set aside for gamers. AI is a problem if it uses all of the wafers, so I suspect the solution will be to keep gaming on an older node and use the latest greatest node for AI...

Nvidia is probably 90% of the RT market and this works with all Nvidia RTX cards not just 4 series so everyone else isn't a lot. They can manage to support DLSS and FSR, this will be similar I suspect - all games supporting it other than AMD exclusives.

A roadmap is only a power point slide until you have people working to make it happen. They only have so many engineers, they can't do everything. AI is where the money is right now. Those engineers will go from desktop gpu's to AI chips. Nvidia and Intel are probably doing the same thing...

What has Lisa been talking about for the last few months - AI. She will have gone to the gpu dept and said I want AI cards as priority number one! They will be reprioritizing and cutting back other projects. An obvious one in that it makes them little money is high end consumer gpu's.

It works just fine in a number of those games, so no you aren't better off at all. Most people have't gone through a full forum indoctrination where they are taught to hate it despite having never used it, they turn it on, see everything gets significantly smoother and are quite happy.

In the real world DLSS 3 would be on and be getting twice the 3060's fps in a number of those games.

If you implement DLSS Nvidia will probably test it for you (they have a large dedicated game testing center) thereby giving you a load of free testing.

Yes. Textures are tied to resolution - you don't actually need the textures designed for 4k at 1080p, even more so if you are using DLSS/FSR which means you are probably rendering at 720p. So yes a 1440p card needs better textures which needs more memory but that's not really necessary at...

Well it's not $10-$20 more in the uk, more like £50. It's also 220W vs 120W so would need a new power supply. It's also well down on features (DLSS being one but there are a number of other nice things Nvidia offers). Finally it's RT support is weak, and who wants to buy a new card that...

Son just bought a 4060, for all the hate it's still the best card at it's price - 3060ti's and 3070's are significantly more expensive, 3060 is barely cheaper. It's small and lower power so he was thinking he'd need to upgrade his PSU but he doesn't for a 4060. It has all the latest features...

Obviously Nvidia would include DLSS in an AMD sponsored title as it would show you are better of playing it with an Nvidia card as DLSS > FSR. Obviously AMD block it as they don't want that happening.
