I guess I didn't state this before. It doesn't matter what voltage I have ANYTHING at..cpu, ram, agp, etc...I still can't get past 144fsb...right now the cpu is at 1.65v ...but yes I've tried raising it but can't get past it....any other suggestions??
I doubt its my psu. It's an allied 450w and when I bought it was told it was a very very good one. I tried my friends Antec Tru 480w and it does the same thing.
Multiplier is set to a maximum my board will allow with the mobile barton...at 12.5 currently.
Okay I just stuck my new cpu (mobile barton 2400+) in the other day thinking I would get quite the overclock but much to my surprise I can't even get it to run at stock speeds. Anything over 144fsb I can't boot into windows. What gives?? I have..
Mobile barton 2400+ 1.65v
epox 8rda+ mobo
512mb...
There is a jumper setting for 133/166 and 100/133 so its just one setting and I have it on the 133/166 setting. I ram memtest for about an hour and it checked out okay. I still can't get above 145fsb....weird...
How are you guys running so high of fsb??? I can only get about 145fsb until it craps out on me. I've got:
8rda+
512 samsung pc2700
allied 450w psu
2400+ m barton
timings on ram set to optimal which is like 7 3 3 3 or something...
Okay I bumped the multi up to 13.5 but bios doesn't recognize it...it just shoots it back to a 600mhz k7....but the 12.5 multi will work...any suggestions as to why this is happening??
I thought nowadays it wasn't about mhz...I could be wrong though I don't really understand this stuff anyway.. for example a 1800mhz barton is faster than a 1800mhz tbred right???
Okay it wasn't at 2.63 and I raised it... so I was able to up it to about 144fsb but still, that seems insanely low compared to what people are getting (200fsb normally). And I dont' think 144 is still stock speeds yet?? I'm not sure the model of my heatsink since it doesn't have any writing on...
Okay I just got my new mobile barton 2400+ here are my system specs...
Epox 8rda+
