umm,its a mobile running in a non-mobile environment? tell the bios what to do with it. bump the multiplier and FSB.

Okay I wasn't sure..that's what I just did. What are the stock settings and voltage on those 2400+ mobiles??

"stock" voltage depends on what you're talking about. The cores are rated 2400+@1.45V, however they are full desktop cores so there is NO danger running them at 1.65 (or even higher...you probably don't want to climb much above 1.75 or 1.8, and watch your temps).
As for FSB/mult, I think it's 133x13 or 14. Whatever gives you ~1800 MHz.

They overclock really well though, so be sure to bump it up a bit more. you can probably get 2.4GHz @ 1.7 V or so.;)

Okay I bumped the multi up to 13.5 but bios doesn't recognize it...it just shoots it back to a 600mhz k7....but the 12.5 multi will work...any suggestions as to why this is happening??

My 2600 XP-M isnt recognized by my 8RDA+ either. Wont take a multiplier over 12.5 either, running now at 12.5@190. Vcore defaulted to 1.6v

CPUID gives me all the correct info and does recognize the chip so maybe if you downloaded it it would give you some clues.

i have a 2400+ on a shuttle an35n and it sayts unknown CPU but it always will

mine is running 11x200 currently, it will do 11.5x215 and 12x210 for about 2.5GHz and 1.825v, temps are fine

the only way mine is recognized if if its running at 600MHz which it defaults to, dont worry about it its no big deal

try running your ast 11x166, that will give you 1.8GHz whihc is what teh chip is supposed to run at, and it still wont be recognized but that doesnt matter

start at that setting and them move up 11x200 shoudl be dooiable without any increase in voltage

It won't let you use a multiplier higher than 12.5
you can't use multis higher than what the chip's stock multi is, unless you have a DFI or Abit NF7
you could probably go for a mod, if you wanted

As Avalon stated, the early Nforce2 boards will not let you access the multipliers greater than 12.5. When you try 13.0x or higher, the board simply uses the low end multipliers like 6.0x or 8.0x.

You've got 2 options:
(1) Upgrade the MB to a NF7-S or DFI that will allow you to use the full range of multipliers
(2) Do the PIN MOD in order to get the multiplier that you want.

I've got the exact same problem with my 8RDA (non + version), but currently running happy at 190 x 12.5 = 2375mhz.

it shoud do 166x11 without any trobles because theys 1.8GHz which tehchip is rated at, you ram shoud lhandel that without a prob, if it cant then you have an issue, run memtest on you ram,

is there a jumper on your mother board the selects 133/166 FSB? if so make sure its set to 166

There is a jumper setting for 133/166 and 100/133 so its just one setting and I have it on the 133/166 setting. I ram memtest for about an hour and it checked out okay. I still can't get above 145fsb....weird...
