Thanks for the suggestion geokilla, I think I will stick with the current card as I do not do a lot of gaming on this system. Mainly work in Lightroom, Photoshop etc and watch some Blu-Ray movies :)
After looking around some and doing a little chatting at other forums I think I will go with these http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231145
Thanks for the info DSF
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I chose that RAM because the gskill 1066 has issues with the board and the Corsair is on the compatibility charts up to 1066. I wanted to remove the memory as a potential bottleneck in getting a good overclock so I went with something I felt would do that...
Refreshing my system and would like to run it buy you guys to see if I missed any potential pitfalls. The MB, RAM, heat sink and CPU are the only new components.
I do plan to overclock to at least 3.4GHz (would like a little more) and I am not interested in RAID.

Updating my main system and would appreciate your input. I do plan to overclock the new system and would like to get at least 3.4GHz from the E8500 or Q9550. I play some games on the system (no SLI/Crossfire needed) but I work in Adobe Lightroom every day. The quad core would speed up rendering...
Actually I did not do any research into the X-Fi because I have one in my other system (platinum version) and I have not had any issues with it. I will check into that, thanks for the heads up.
Have a link to the G.Skill? I had actually selected some G.Skill with slightly better timings but...
Thanks for the feedback Nemesis13. I will be using an Antec full tower, spacing the hard drives apart as much as possible and have two case fans (one in front, one in back) to start off with. I would prefer to stay with two case fans to keep noise at a minimum but will add more if needed.
I am fixing to update my main workstation and have pretty much decided on the following components. I would appreciate it if yall would let me know if you see any potential issues. General feedback, suggestions also welcome, other than go Intel ;) . I am not much of an overclocker though I might...
What is the fast init option when creating an array using a Promise FastTrak controller (S150 SX4). I have looked in the manuals, their web site and don't see it listed anywhere?
No I was not joking, I really am thinking about it for the reason that dexvx points out, it saves space. I have crap everywhere at the moment. I am not sure about the amount of U space I am looking for I just want to be able to fit all the spuff in the system I posted above in it. I look at the...
Yes, in the system I use the most (gaming system of course) I use a WD 80GB SE for my system drive and have it dual boot with 2 installs of WinXP Pro. I install all my apps to that drives and that is about it. It wastes a lot of space but you can not find a small and fast HD. I put all my games...
I have 5 PCs here at the house for various reasons plus my laptops. I am getting tired of all the cases everywhere and was thinking about getting a small rack and some rack mount cases and put it all in there. Any of yall done anything like this? I have never bought a rack or rack mount cases so...
I am going to setup a level 0 RAID using 2 WD1000JB drives and a Promise FastTrak 1000TX controller under Win2k & WinXP (dual boot). I have a 2nd HD now that I use for everything but the OS and programs, etc. and when I format and reinstall the OS or move everything to a new motherboard or...
