I've just started loading software on a new system which has a 6700 Core2 Duo on an Intel Box 975 mobo. It is configured with RAID disabled.
It takes the BIOS about 25 seconds to detect the two 320GB HDs during boot up, and 35 seconds to get to the first Windows screen.

Just setting up a new system with the Intel Box 975 mobo. Configured for no RAID. Dual 320GB disks.
During boot the BIOS screen takes about 20 to 25 seconds to find the drives before loading windows. This is outrageous... Any ideas how to fix this?
So a buddy is setting up a new system with the Intel BOX 975 mobo and is using to 320GB SATA drives that he wants in non-RAID configuration. The first RAID screen that comes up finds the drives and he is able to low level format them. But then under the regular BIOS the drives are not found...
Maybe $3000 is overkill for non-gaming, but I do want awesome sound capability for composing and mixing music. There will also be heavy photoshop usage. Already have a Dell 24" monitor.
