You said you loaded the "Optimized defaults" in the BIOS? Do you have a Standard BIOS Defaults? Might be the problem!

It will work, you'll maybe need a BIOS upgrade, check the newer BIOS'es for the board.

Are you using Windows 2000? If so, did you installed the AMD agp patch avalaible on the AMD website?

I don't know many burning programs but Sisoft Sandra seem easy to use, there is a burning wizard included in it. Search "sisoft" on www.download.com

It is a virus, I just cleared it from a computer, it's W32.Magistr or a variant, get a good anti-virus software or update the one you have. Hope that helps.

Try to find a reset CMOS jumper on your board before anything else. If you try to remove the BIOS chip use extreme caution! Never tried this myself to reset the CMOS.

Have you installed the AMD Agp patch? If not, it could cause lockups while in 3D Apps. Maybe it is not that because the sound tends to loop when it happens but you may give it a try. Hope that helps!

I had similar problems setting up a Dlink, only hitting the reset button on the modem did the trick. Hope that helps!
