Thanks for the warning. I never saw the "overclock" box.. scam scam scam... (or not completely since they have the box but hey.. not everybody in the world is up on overclocking).
So I'm building a system and have gotten most of the parts but am shopping on the internet for RAM and have a few questions regarding what I am trying to find (Samsung PC2700 512mb)
From what I've read in different posts there is Samsung RAM that is manufactured by Samsung and uses the chips...
Just curious about this. I'm planning on buying the mobo for an Intel 2.8ghz and the specs on newegg.com list that it goes to 2.2ghz + (but does this mean 2.8? and why wouldn't they lest that?)
the other thing it mentioned is that it takes PC2100 and PC1600 DDR ram?
But what about PC2700? Are...
I'm building my first system and am about to purchase my materials. Just wanted to get some responses on this:
Case: Any case is good with a 350W PS
Processor: pentium 2.8 ghz
Mobo: Asus P4t533 (this has built-in RAID controller?)
RAM: Any DDR ram is fine, right?
Videocard: Geforce4 Ti4600...
The software I'll be using is Discreet Combustion which is based on Open GL. I'm going to get one of these and the price difference is around $200. Just curious for opinions on whether the quadro4 750 xgl is enough the extra $.
thanks
I'm building a system to use for video editing (Avid Express DV) and video compositing (Discreet Combustion) with a budget of around $1500. There was another post here previously asking for info on a $1500 system and there were some very helpful posts on it but it left me with a few questions...
