    Slackware linux XFree86 setup

I just installed Slackware 8.1 linux on my recently constructed rig: Xp 2100 Geforce 4 512 DDR ect. At XFree86 website I notice that their most recent release only supported graphics cards up to the geforce 3. I am very new to linux, but was wondering how to configure XFree86 on my current rig...

    fans fans fans

I have a Volcanoe 7+ on my XP2100. Its pretty decent. 47C idle, and 55-57C load. Though the heatsink with the fan attached is very heavy and is only attached by that one clip. I run the fan speed on low because the noise is extremely irritating on med. or high. I would use it if you don't plan...

    Cooling a 226 Watt Peltier

I am just curious as to where you got your 12V 226watt peltier. 12V seems much easier to run if you have a spare power supply. The only peltiers I have seen run at higher voltages.

    Cooling a 226 Watt Peltier

Thx for your help, I'll start doing some research, but just one quick question. If these pelts run around 18V what do you use to power them.

    Cooling a 226 Watt Peltier

When looking through Best Byte's site I found they sould both a 75Watt and 226Watt peltier. I was thinking of cooling my XP2100 (soon to be overclocked) and was wondering, what would it take to cool this 226Watt peltier? I'm guessing some serious water cooling. Link Stupid question: And since...

Success rates with Overclocking a Gainward ULTRA 750XP Golden Sample.

Its said that the Gainward GF4's are very overclockable. I read an article in Maximum PC some time ago and they were able to take a 650XP from 250/222 to 315/280 w/o extra cooling. I guessing you can get pretty far. http://oc3dmark.octeams.com/ has a data base of overclocked graphics cards.

    Watercooling videocard

I'm guessing you wouldn't want to make your own cooling setup (I know I wouldn't). But I don't see why you need to cool your ramsinks, unless your overclocking that is. If your not overclocking then ramsinks w/o a fan could probably work. You could also get a quiet fan or run any old fan at a...

    24V Fans? "Big suckers"

Thanks for all you help. It looks as though if you want "extreme" liquid is the only way to go. I think I might look into the 190mm fans though.

    24V Fans? "Big suckers"

Case Cooling Fan - Please Help!

make sure you have the same amount of air moving in and the same amount moving out. The air from all you case fans that is. One fan shouldn't blow both ways.

    24V Fans? "Big suckers"

Well, I really wanted to run a big fan at low rpm so it would push a lot air and remain quiet. I am planning to do just about as much overclocking as possible with just air. I know water is a lot better, but I dont have the resources to make water blocks or the money to buy them. Well, if there...

    24V Fans? "Big suckers"

I've been looking to put some big 5in or 6in fans in the top and bottom of my case. The only fans this big that I can find use 24V or sometimes higher. Is there any way to encorporate these 24V fans. Any mods or different kind of power supply I can buy? These fans are mostly metal (fins and...
