In which order did you install the drivers? You must install the Via 4-in1s before any videocard or soundcard driver. Get hold of the latest 4-in1s from http://www.via.com.tw or http://www.viahardware.com/, version 4.25a. Don't use the old version from your CD.

Or you could use one of these free space sites on the net like: xdrive.com, freedrive.com, driveway.com, fatdrive.com, freediskspace.com, idrive.com. Don't remeber how much they offer, but it's around 50-300Megs I think.

Go for Plextor! 16x vs 12x isn't that big a difference. The burnproof technology on the Plextor makes it a sure bet. I might be mistaking, but I don't think the Yamaha has burnproof tech...

You must go to the abit-ftp site for the latest ul103 bios and driver for the HPT370. The bios for the HPT-controller is integrated into the motherboard bios. Beware though, this site is slow..... ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/beta/kt7/ Download both bios and driver!! For the latest via-drivers go...
