Greetings all. I just did a search on "VIA" here in the forums and general consensus is that if your going to use a GeForce with a VIA KT133 then you'll need to get the VIA 4in1 drivers and if using Win2k you'll need the Microsoft AGP patch.
I used to have a PIII 500 with 256mb of RAM and a GeForce2 GTS. I was using Win2k and getting an average of 40fps in Unreal Tournament. With my T'BIRD 800 384MB of ram and my GeForce2 GTS I'm getting a god awful 20fps!
I'm pissed! I formatted and did a clean install of Win2k. I installed in the VIA 4in1 drivers along with the Microsoft AGP fix and the detonator 3's. I thought "hey maybe it's win2k." So I format again and install WinME (which is the worst os i've ever used btw) installed in the VIA 4in1 and the detonator 3's once again. Still only getting 20fps! WTF!
I'm going nuts here! The guy I bought the MB off of (brand new) said to install the drivers off the CD that came with the MB not the "third party drivers" When I get home tonight I'm going to try that....but the drivers on the cd should be VIA chipset drivers right? Or are they mother board specific?
Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated!
