I'm sure DVD and SDTV will be around for a looooong time still so If you mostly watch SDTV (standard definition TV) then it's not so bad. Plus it comes with a 2yr warranty and it's a Sony so there are actual parts and techs to fix them. Don't be so quick to shoot the deal down.
