How much hotter does the 1.4 GHz run than the 1.0 GHz? I am using a Purple Orb right now on my 1.0, and was wondering if I need a better sink for the 1.4... I'm running at about 98º-100º F at idle (about 114º F under load). Should it be sufficient?

Whoa, out of the box? Seems like they sent you a bad board. Somebody probably experienced this problem and RMA'd the board with that company, and they happened to send it to you. I used to work for a company who did that, where when something was returned, it was repackaged and put back on...

hahahahaha I can't believe it! It happens to me too! I'm using the TY-RAID BIOS on mine... mine locks up right before doing the memory test. Ctrl+Alt+Del does it again, but the reset button cures it. Interesting... :Q

Bah! I don't own another board with a PLCC chip, nor do I know anyone with one, so the hot swap-n-flash is out of the question. The problem is with the floppy drive giving me that error. What gives?
