Direct from the Sony website I read the same warranty is in effect for both the E and the G.
I would be surprised if different screen coatings on the E vs. the G.

We use Dell celerons on a 10 workstation LAN here. No problems going on about 18 months now. Dells seem very well built. The cases use heavier guage plastic nad they are well shielded. Tech support is great.
Well...I paid 890 for a 4100 refurb from Dell:
PIII 800; 30GB HD (7200 RPM), CD-RW, PC-133 (i815 chip set, I believe).
