This is probably an incredibly stupid question

F*** me, it says it right on the bottom: "Password: password." As hard as I try, I just *don't* understand why Netgear's website says the default router IP is 192.168.0.1. I mean for guys who install routers regularly this is a piece of cake, but this is the first time I'm installing a router...

This is probably an incredibly stupid question

Tried https://192.168.1.1/ in IE and Firefox. Both said "Problem cannot display webpage." Tried http://192.168.1.1 without the "s." It shows a window that says "Authentication required." I guess that's the config page, but it's password protected, right?

This is probably an incredibly stupid question

For the Wifi adapter it says 192.168.1.2<Preferred>. For the LAN it says 192.168.1.3<Preferred>. The DNS server is 192.168.1.1. In the online manual, it says the default IP is 192.168.1.0 I have tried using addresses 192.168.1.0-3, with both Firefox and IE and it just doesn't load. It's a...

This is probably an incredibly stupid question

It's connected to the internet now, thank you. Looks like I had everything plugged in correctly but I had to restart the modem and my PC first. I have internet but I still can't access the router config page at 192.168.0.1. It shows a blank page, but nothing else.

This is probably an incredibly stupid question

I did plug the modem ethernet into the Router WAN port, and my computer ethernet into the LAN port. The problem is that I cannot connect over LAN or WiFi because I don't have the password. When I go to http://192.168.0.1 config page it's doesn't load, it's just blank. I've tried resetting the...

This is probably an incredibly stupid question

... But how do I connect to my home routers config page if my cable modem has one ethernet port and my PC and router both need to be connected to work?

Had a realization while researching motherboards. Need to know if I'm wrong.

So I'm planning to build a SFF 1080P gaming PC. I have a G2020T. I've been looking to buy a mini ITX LGA 1155 motherboard, but the retail stock is very limited. I've narrowed down my options to the Asus P8H61-I R2.0, and the Gigabyte GA-B75N. Both of these are available on Newegg. I've...

Recommend a GTX 750 for underclocking

I'm looking for the best Nvidia GTX 750 or 750 Ti for underclocking. One that would have good stability and easy to underclock. Also needs to have a 6-pin PCI-e. Any suggestions?

Cheney's deception in WSJ op-ed piece is met with numerous scathing retorts

I'm no one to paint a rosy picture about Obama's foreign policy, and I would have no qualms about Cheney, or any Bush ex-admin, to go after Obama for his numerous blunders and fuck-ups. But the very last person to criticize on the Iraq war should be Dick Cheney. That war was a titanic failure...

Iran says publicly today that it wants us gone

Best thing America can do in regards to this inflammatory rhetoric is sending secret, covert operatives to Iran to foment a coup to overthrow the government. Rather than having an Iranian president, let's install a Western friendly, reformist Shah to rule Iran. That'll turn things around and...

Building a "toaster gamer." What are my options?

My budget is $250 for CPU, mobo, RAM, and GPU. I already have a 450W PSU w/8-pin and I will find a cheap case and monitor after I move. So that's basically all parts accounted for, right? A "toaster" as in used and cheap, but with adequate power. Like how people say "linux toaster" for a cheap...

Building a "toaster gamer." What are my options?

This is a bit unusual request. Last year I decided to build a custom gaming PC from scratch. I bought an i3-2100, GTX 660 2GB, and 24" IPS monitor, along with other components. It played every game I owned on Steam at 50-120 fps in 1080p. However, I had to sell that computer because I'm moving...

The problem with execution drugs lately, over shadowed by an even bigger problem

OK I see your point. I went for my afternoon jog, and realized I was overly harsh to imply that you were stupid for your comments, and I apologize. I see nothing wrong with execution by lethal injection in theory, it was simply botched in execution. That conclusion is based on the expert...
