Laptop Doesn't Fully Shut Down - Causing Battery Charge Loss While Off

I've taken the battery out and kept it in a cool, dry, dark place. Laptop's working fine on AC power. Hope the battery lasts for 2-3 years or more. :P

Laptop Doesn't Fully Shut Down - Causing Battery Charge Loss While Off

This may sound dumb, but do I have to unscrew a portion of the back or do something similar to take the battery out? I'm not at all experienced with notebooks actually. I mean I've used many in the past, but this is my first one. I've always been a desktop enthusiast. I had to shift to a...

Laptop Doesn't Fully Shut Down - Causing Battery Charge Loss While Off

The power supply is still charging the battery constantly even when it's full? I actually keep the charger connected almost always thinking that it'll prevent the battery itself from getting used. When I do that, the battery always stays more than 90% charged. It starts to recharge only when the...

Laptop Doesn't Fully Shut Down - Causing Battery Charge Loss While Off

This is resolved now. It's actually an issue of Windows 8 which puts the computer into some sort of 'deep sleep' mode by default when I shut it down. This is apparently part of Windows 8's 'fast startup' feature. I've used shutdown.exe for full shutdown...

Laptop Doesn't Fully Shut Down - Causing Battery Charge Loss While Off

I have a 2.5 months old Fujitsu Lifebook AH532. Specs: i3 2348M - 2.3GHz 4GB Single Module 1333 DDR3 500GB HDD 5400RPM Windows 8 64-bit Okay, so the problem is that it doesn't ever get fully shut down. I had noticed that if I fullly charge the battery at night, I'd wake up next...

i3-3220 vs i5-3550S: How do they compare?

Nehalem is old now. Turbo Boost works as long as your processor is within the max. TDP limits. The 3550S would perform slightly better overall, but why would you get it after all for a higher price?

    New i3 2100 build - Overheating issue

Here I come again, after two months, I guess. :) I've kept one side of the case open, and fitted another 80mm CM case fan in intake position. I've also bought a Corsair CX430 PSU as I that Frontech one eventually killed my motherboard which I got replaced after one month thanks to Intel. Now...

PC Suddenly shuts down and won't boot again!

Seems like the PSU is just fine. My old PC works with that PSU. :o What could be the problem with the new PC?

    Which upgrade path to choose?

I'd suggest staying with the Core 2 Duo for now.

    Please Critique My Gaming Build

Get 8GB RAM instead of 16GB and get a Z68 MoBo. The QuickSync technology of the integrated GPU boosts the video transcoding speeds.

PC Suddenly shuts down and won't boot again!

My PC was on for about 3hrs today morning. I installed a software and the PC shut down immediately and is not starting up again. I've opened it up and saw when I turn the power switch on the motherboard standby LED lits up. However pressing the turn on key does nothing. Also the mouse lights...
