You mean the part where you take a plasma gatling and turn the entire town into entrails-festooned rubble, right?
The catcalls from the hookers in New Reno are hilarious once you do the pornstar questline in FO2. The funniest one if I remember right was a hooker asking me how I can even have enough blood left in the rest of my body to stand after getting an erection. I think I drugged the daughter of the mafia don running the city, impregnated her, and then killed her father in the casino. Could you imagine a questline like that in a game today? :tearsofjoy:

Yeah...there have been too many shows lately with terrible departures from good source material for me to want to do anything but wait for reviews. Halo, what became of the Witcher series etc

Watched the first episode and so far I like it!

They really nailed the aesthetic, violence is a bit over the top but so are the games.

Brotherhood of Steel almost feels a bit like from the WH40K universe, technology zealots, scribes, power armor etc.

Series has got potential, time to binge the rest now.

I watched it. I call it most excellent for a fair adaptation as well as a seriously good stand-alone thing. ....well, it helps to appreciate the nuances of playing these choice-based character-making games, because otherwise someone who isn't familiar with it would wonder why these characters sometimes make strange, inconsistent decisions, haha. ...and of course the nods to casual and instant horniness.

Walton Goggins is just Boyd Crowder as a ghoul, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Watched the first episode the other day and well, have no plans on watching a second. I'll stick with the games.

I watched the series. Not bad. Kind of weird, but I've only ever played a bit of one Fallout game...maybe FO4? Couldn't quite get into it.
Still...decent show.

Fallout 1 & 2 are better if you don't mind 1990s isometric graphics plus turn based combat. They go on sale a lot for $2 to $3 and Epic Game Store has given them away free before. Fallout 2 has one of the best stories I have ever seen in gaming. If I had to rank the games in the series they'd probably go:
  1. Fallout 2
  2. Fallout New Vegas
  3. Fallout 1
  4. Fallout 3
  5. Fallout 4
Never bothered with Fallout 76 since I hate MMOs. Also never played the last Black Isle Studios Fallout game (in between 2 and 3) so can't rank it either.

I actually own (mostly from game give-aways):
Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout 3 GOTY
Fallout 4
Fallout New Vegas

FO4 is the only one I've ever played.(or even installed)

I'm about 5 episodes in and this is exactly how I feel about it so far. I never played any of the games so I have no reference to relate to on that side of things. I also think the series is kind of weird but in a quirky way that I'm not opposed.

Anyway, I may or may not finish it but at least I gave it a chance.

Haven't watched yet, but FWIW the games were mostly a meta-troll of the player. So, if overall you kind of feel like you/the main character are being fucked with by an unseen hand, that's pretty on-brand.

Watched it all. Only have played a bit of FO3. It was a good show, well done, and an interesting world.

Show is damned good. Acting is great, it nails the atmosphere, and the action and CGI are well done. I don't care about some retconning or lack of continuity.

If you know little or nothing about Fallout, don't scratch your head about the weird tech like how passwords are cracked, why a stimpack instantly heals mortal wounds, rad away cures radiation poisoning, or any of that stuff like fusion cores. It's simply remaining faithful to the gameplay.

Predictably, the Fallout games are experiencing a big boost in player count at the moment thanks to the show.
