zzf is cheating me!!

from my experience ZZF has better pricing sometimes due to majority of the items having free 2nd day shipping. One thing I find to be good about Newegg is that even though shipping isn't 2nd day air, I usually recieve my products in 2 days, and its always before they estimate it will be delivered. I guess it depends on which warehouse they ship from though. But I say go with whatever site is cheaper because so far both sites are Excellent.

Here is my last order from Newegg -

POWER SP|480W(P4)W0014 (BK) TT RTL

1 $11.99

VGA CO0LING|ATI SILENCER 1 RT

1 $25.99

Subtotal $92.98

Tax $5.58
Shipping and Handling $16.80
Total $115.36

Its bad enough I have to pay tax but they don't reduce shipping charges on orders with several items. I mean almost 20% shipping charge is ridiculous.

Well, here is a f*cked up situation.

I had called zzf twice to make sure the parts are ready to be shipped as of yesterday morning. I call again this morning because I didn't see any tracking number. They said the video card was backordered. I look at the website and it says it's available. I call them back and talk to CS supervisor and he says it looks like the video card has just arrived. I ask him to overnight my order so I will get my stuff as promised by tomorrow. He asks me to pay half the shipping price, $25. I told him I'm not responsible to pay the price for a mistake that they have made, but he would not budge.

This is very frustrating to say the least. Is there anything I can do here?? help.

Agreed. Newegg is good for orders with only one or two expensive items, but on orders with multiple small inexpensive items, they really nail you on shipping and the "discount" usually comes out to a whopping $0.10-$0.20.

Cancel your order, order from another company, and don't do business with them in the future.

The loss of money is the only thing that companies care about.

BTW, I don't think they have wronged you. Sometimes it takes several days for items to ship. Either pay the $25.00 for next day, or wait and get it on Monday.

That's not the point. The point is that they have processed and "packed" the order when the video card wasn't even "available"

I've ordered from both now, and I only order from NewEgg if the price plus shipping is significantly lower than the ZZF price. Whoever said NewEgg's shipping prices are lower is blowing smoke; ZZF has free second-day shipping. The gamer doesn't exist who ever needed a part faster than that, or faster than a week for that matter.

I agree, I had a great experience with them getting my new motherboard last week. Love that free 2nd day shipping! Great price too.

As others have said, ZZF is slower than NewEgg when it comes to updating their website. I only choose ZZF over NewEgg because I don't have to pay sales tax, which would kill any deal NewEgg has.

What's bad about zzf is that I didn't get any sort of confirmation email when I placed the order. nothing at all. Is that true for everyone?

I ordered a keyboard/mouse yesterday around 2:15 PM Eastern time. I got an email about 30 minutes later saying the order was being processed. I got another email about 12 hours later (2:30 am) saying that it had shipped. When I checked on the website, the status was accurate and included the FedEx tracking number. Currently, the status is still accurate and is updating as needed.

Misleading title.

"Cheating" you would be keeping your money and sending you nothing.

Offering to pay half of the cost of overnight shipping for you is not cheating you.

A bit of searching would have informed you that ZZF's inventory listings are like most companies, only semi-accurate, not real-time accurate like Newegg. You'd also have known they often don't ship as quickly as Newegg.

Live and learn, or search and learn faster.

It was an error. You didn't pay for guaranteed delivery so they are not obligated to lose money to get your goods. It's a bummer for sure but that doesn't put the ball in their court to have them something extraordinary. Expecting them to pay for next day shipping is, to me, not needed in this situation. I am impressed they would offer to split the cost of next day shipping with you. That speaks to me. I am a system integrator on the side and order from them all the time. I would say one out of my countless orders has gotten delayed. No biggie I understand this type of thing happens. As long as it gets resolved in a timely fashion and does not incur me extra cost life is good.

I wonder where people get their ideas of how companies are supposed to act. Maybe I "get it" more because I did customer support and management in a national call center for one of the nations leading LTL companies. People feel they are entitled to so much more than they are. I am the same way time to time. If ZZF had said tough to you or not sent you the goods or downgraded your shipping then by all means lets get it on! If you are unhappy with the service you have choice. You don't ever have to order from them again. You also have choice to flame and bad mouth them to everyone you know. Who knows you might even talk a few people into not using them.

Ah well I hope it all comes out on the bright for you. I understand it can be frustrating. I have been dealing with SNT systems over a similar issue. It irks me a bit, especially because I am now a week behind on my order. My customer isn't happy and they could still pull the order which would then leave me stuck with $600 worth of water cooling swag. 🙁

haha. thanks Dave almighty. Easy to say when you're not someone's shoe, isn't it? I'd call charging $25 for a mistake they made is cheating. If you don't have anything positive to say, it's better sometime to keep it to yourself. Have a nice day.

Read Akira1224's post.

Off I go, to increase Jennifer Aniston's bust size . . .

Oh believe me. I work for an enterprise software company and I work closely with CS team. I was guaranteed the delivery by two different CS. If they can't meet it, they shouldn't make it. Talking to the supervisor, he doesn't know why I haven't gotten any sort of email at all. When I called in the morning, he said the order's delayed because of the video card backorder and they don't have any in stock. I call them back in 2 mins and all of sudden they have it now. not my problem, maybe the should upgrade their call tracking system.

Anyway, I'll stop my bitchining moaning. It just doesn't leave very good first impression with the experience.

lol don't drag me into this. I feel for the guy I really do. Like I said I am in an almost exact situation where I ordered something, and come to find out after 2 days of no changes to my order, that the item is out and they wont have more until after the first of the year. (that was a monster run on sentance) SNT is the only reseller for Aqua in the states. Whats a brotha to do? Yeah it irks me but I am not asking them to air-freight me a part from Germany (where Aqua is based out of).

Ah well he can take it however he wants. Getting upset at me or you is not going to get the parts here faster. I am honestly trying to help.

heh, I'm actually not upset. Why would I be? I'm eating Macdonald's right now for lunch. I couldn't be upset. 😉 Two friends of mine called me a traitor for not ordering everything from newegg. He said it's funny he heard some guy being pissed off with similar situation cross the office at his company. The only reason why I did order the stuff from zzf was because they had good reputation based on a lot of comments here. I guess I will eventually get my stuff and maybe this is just an isolated incidence. only the time will tell.

/end rant

back to the greasy fries...

Newegg is usually really good for heavy items, like UPSes, cases, and maybe power supplies. Anything else, like chipset cooling, fans, etc - I usually got to SVC, Bestbyte, or something along those lines. SVC's Priority Mail shipping is really nice, and they have always had a quick shipping time for me, usually postmarked the day of, or the day after, I order.
Newegg's shipping is really weird though. Put together a cart of tiny items - try some cooling paste, a tiny chipset fan, maybe a USB cable, and your shipping will likely cost more than the items. Get the same stuff at SVC, and you'll probably pay a 1-2 pound shipping rate - less than $6. Or heck, Bestbyte - their standard shipping carries a $5 flat rate.

I only ordered from ZZF once, when they had some deal on Thoroughbred-B 2100's. The two-day shipping held true then, but that wasn't during the holidays either.
I'll say though, I don't like when websites don't have realtime (or at least close to it) status updates. But I'd imagine that putting together a system like that takes a decent investment of both time and money.

Just because you don't agree what he said does not mean it's not positive.

I don't agree with you, but I am resorting to name calling? That is so childish and is becoming a rather annoying trend here among newbies, especially kids.

If you don't want someone else's opinion why even post here?

Simple fact is:

If you must have it by a certain date, buy it local and spend more money.

If you can wait a few days, then order it online.

Even the "god" known as Newegg makes mistakes. It happens, and it not cheating.

zzf (zipzoomfly) seems to be somewhat slow on the uptake..

seems they only update the orders once a day, the items always show shipped the day after they actually are..

If they misrepresented that the item was in stock, but in reality it wasnt, thats bad business.

but, life in general isnt fair much of the time.

The best (only) recourse is to not use them in the future, if your unhappy with their business model.

Gez! No wonder they can't ship the product out in a timely manner. They are too busy talkin to guys like you on the phone every 2 minutes.

If this was an emergency (which I highly doubt) then buying online was not the best course of action. Back when I started with the online purchasing, I bought from a lot of weird resellers. Some good, some bad. I've had it take 3 weeks to get a product.

When I get something before 2 weeks, I consider that a good turnaround. You may call that low expectations. I call it cautious planning that doesn't leave me disappointed.

Again, if you are unhappy with the service, then just cancel your order. Your expectation that they work some sort of magic for you seems a bit much. They're just an online retailer of computer parts. Crap happens. And they certainly aren't cheating you, IMO.

Again. Take your business elsewhere if you're unhappy. Me, I like ZZF alright.
