Only for overclockability.

But does it actually matter? Are week 27's better then other weeks? From what I've read so far, there isn't much difference in batches so far for these. Are there weeks that are noticeably better?

Well, the later weeks seem to have superior overclockability, and week 27 is one of the newest weeks out now. It's kind of logical, since they've probably gotten the hang of fabbing 😉

Finally the price of the E6600 seems to be slowly coming down. Only a few weeks to go before I plan on buying. Now just if the motherboard prices would come down also.

It better be, more and more reviews are showing the E6300 and E6400 to be a far better bang for the buck and 4mb cache really adding only a 3% to 5% performace boost.

everyone i talk to says that the price for performance is well worth getting the e6600..... so should i save the 100 bux or so
