Hey Zuni,
I've been thinking of doing this personally but I wanted to know how you'd feel about me releasing this to the public (under the terms of the GNU Public License).
I'm not sure if I'd implement this piece of software as a standalone client or a proxy that sits between my browser and the AT forums, but I'd like it to do a few things:
1) Have the ability to interpret custom tags - specifically a picture tag so that on my browser, when people post picture links I could actually see the pictures and not just the links.
2) Possibly re-order the way threads appear in my browser (i.e. I could rank threads based on a multitude of variables - users, # posts, last post time, etc.)
3) Possible change the way the actual forums look on my machine (i.e. give certain users their own individual icons
)
4) Possibly integrate some sort of client-to-client chat sessions.
The reason I'm coming to you for this is because I don't want to fork the mark-up language that you're currently using for AT Forums (i.e. I wouldn't want people crying to you why a PIC tag doesn't show a picture for them but does for people who use the client software). My intention for this is to aim it at people who want to customize the Forums to their own preference but also to ensure it doesn't cause any problems on your end.
Let me know how you feel about this...chances are I'll whip something up just for myself anyhow, but I'm kind of waiting on your opinion about releasing it to the public at large.
