I'm sold. Free OTA CD-quality music, sports, comedy and more from my local stations. iPods don't even have FM radio, let alone HD radio.

There are about 20 different different music applications for the iTouch, including Pandora. This has all been running perfectly on 3G for what, a year now?

It might be hard to imagine, but think of people who don't want/need an iPhone and just want a DMP (read: most of the 260 million cell phone users in the US).

I would say a good number would take an iphone over their current phone if

A. It cost them nothing to swap
B. It had no additional data fee

because I know alot of people I know get the best "free phone" they can get. I'd say a majority of those 260 million fall into that category and will admit that.

What's your point? Most people would take a free Mercedes over their Honda.

In the smart-phone market, you'll find that Blackberry/Palm and other QWERTY users will NOT upgrade to an iPhone simply because of the lack of a keyboard. After years of touch-typing texts and e-mails, nobody wants to hunt-and-peck on a touchscreen.

My point was you said most cell phone users just want a standalone DMP and a phone.

My point is most would rather have a smartphone they just don't want to pay.
