Zoom modems suck?

Naw I dont think they suck i'd say I aint got something setup right.

Anyway I had a Supraexpress 56k external serial and it gave me a good ping but I got alot of connection fails. So I try a Zoom 2949L external serial modem and it gives me a high ping 300+ all the time. Sometimes it will show its sending and receiving but its as if I am still lagged.

Also on my Supra I connect @ 46,000+ and on this Zoom I cant connect past 41,333.

Whats the problem ya think? I tried the latest drivers/firmware from zooms web site.

What could be causeing the problem? I also removed all the supraexpress drivers.
 
BTW when connected with the Zoom modem are all the lights suppost to be lit up besides like 2 or 3? Because mine are.
 
I had an internal 56k isa hardware Zoom modem and although it was stable, it could not match the highest connection speed i attained with a USR 56k modem.
 
My offhand guess is that the Zoom is not capable of handling line noise as well as the Supra. In other words, it sucks. 😀
