If you aren't aware, there is a mod that came out not too long ago called Zombie Panic! through Steam, that offers some fun play. Download it and check it out!

its okay. impossible to win on the human side. just not enough ammo around. pretty fun stalking the humans as a zombie with Zvision on. love the panic button.

Completely untrue. I have played this mod for awhile now. After it got released on steam, a number of new players joined the game, and thus made it harder for the human team to win. To win as a human to have to work together, know the map, and use teamwork. Before the influx of new players, winning as human was much more prevalent.
 
I tried that mod but overall it was too slow-paced for my tastes, I do hope that Left 4 Dead is a little more action-oriented.

I have been on the winning human side several times. It is actually easier to win on the human side if you work together and barricade yourselves in am room. Just make sure a fewq of you have some extra weapons , and you are good to go.
 
its been around forever, but valve just started offering it, along with 4 other source mods, through steam
 
really cool for a mod, but i cant help thinking that the zombies are REALLY boring to play..all they can do is swipe..need more special attacks etc..honestly it just gets boring really fast..the game feels barebones.

some of the art assets are very nice and the atmosphere is pretty good most of the time, but i wouldnt keep playing this, i think left for dead is going to kill this mod off for anyone who has the money
 
so i tried to play it. open the game, refresh servers. click join. says i don't have correct version, restart steam. i do so and then try to refresh servers and it won't even show one god damn server now.

You downloaded and installed it directly from steam right?

i downloaded it a long time ago. but it still should update correctly right?

i tried right clicking and going to delete local content but it doesn't give me that option..

how can i delete the mod and re-download it?

i've had the game installed since january and played it before no problems. i tried yesterday and every server said i had wrong version, restart steam. i did so then when tried refreshing servers it didn't show any servers.

needless to say i deleted the folder in the steam apps folder and am about to re-dl.

Uh ya, they re-released it on steam with a new version, and AFAIK the old version doesn't update. So delete the old version, and re-install directly from steam.
 
This game made me waste exactly 5.3 hours before I uninstalled it.

Yes, those were 5.3 hours I should have been sleeping 😛
 

I didn't really like this too much. Seems buggy as hell, clipping through walls and stuff, seems like ......not very well polished quite frankly. Should I give another map or two a try? I played the Ship one or something....
