So, I hear part of a short radio piece today that deals with this, particularly prisoners' (e.g. San Quentin) fascination with the show on TV. Now, I was unaware of this, it sounds fascinating. I don't get cable/dish, I have rooftop antennas, get my TV off-the-air, have HDTV system, DVR, etc. Also, a local library that stocks a lot of DVDs, even Blu-ray lately, and they have some TV series. I not infrequently buy DVD/BR sets for shows.

Well, what's up with this series? What is it? Do You like it? Can I access this via disks? OTA?

If only we had a thread with thousands of replies discussing the show.

Don't know, but I'd guess you'd probably find those answers in the thread about the show.

iirc Netflix has all the season except for the current one. But if you have not been watching it yet then just stay away, it's not worth the time. My local public library has it too but its generally in month long queue or scratched disks

Why should somebody have to sift through 1000s of replies in a thread, what's wrong with a new thread? afterall he's not discussing the show, just asking where he can find it for cheap

He's asking what's up with the show, do we like it, what's it about..... all info we don't really need to rehash.

The show is great, but be aware of the picky fans trying to find a million flaws in a fictional TV show.

As long as you are a fan of character development and not story development, you'll love it. But if you want the over arching theme of the show to move forward at all, even a fucking inch then don't bother.

To be fair, if the show somehow advanced in a way to make the threat of walkers more manageable then it would lose its appeal. The writers know what they are doing.

So if they wandered into someone that actually knew about what was going on in a grander scale, that would ruin the show for you? And I do not think the monkeys know what they are writing. All they know how to write is mid season finales and season finales.

But I keep watching it, like a dip shit, thinking that today this one time, something, anything, is going to happen.

Netflix

The first three seasons are great, then it starts getting worse. Right now my interest in the show is the lowest its ever been, but I'll probably still watch it because I'm weak.

I think you are watching the wrong show then. They already went farther than the comics in explaining things with the trip to the CDC.

The OP is probably better off reading the comics. It's probably cheaper and is probably a better experience.

Netflix it. Stop after season 2...or before. It just gets progressively dumber.

There are some good zombie/ish/eotwawki series to read that would keep a higher level than something trying to appeal to the broadest set of viewers.

I mean, 95% of the stuff on Amazon is probably pure sheet one way or another, and that might be generous, but the other stuff is well written, just hitting a different genre than you would expect.

(The *most* frustrating for me are the ones with a semi decent story/twist, whatever, but the editing. Editing? We don't need no steenkin editing! Spelling, punctuation, word swaps, the best is when they forget who a characters name...)

:D

Z Nation is worth watching. Similar concept but diametrically opposite execution - smart, funny, unpredictable, etc.

I'm thinking I would, however I was unaware that there was such a thread. Please link me. Thank you,

That's the best access? Dig, I've never had Netflix. So, I should subscribe to Netflix? This would be basically an internet feed, on demand? To my computer and/or BR player? Please indulge a goddamn noob. Thank you.

I don't have Amazon Prime, either. Is this accessible through that?

I think you get your first month free for joining netflix. I'm currently up to season 5 and I'm enjoying it so far.

Netflix is an on demand streaming service. Here is their FAQs. https://help.netflix.com/en/node/412

On their main page you can click "pick your price" for the different tiers.

Edit: It doesn't look like it's included with Amazon Prime video.

People around here are nuts for the show. It's filmed in and around my town. One of the prominent cast members lived in my apartment building for years while working on the show.

Anyway, I watched the first couple seasons and really didn't like it. What I've seen of the show since then is just repetitive and stupid.

Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and Silicon Valley...that's good TV.

I excluded Game of Thrones because the most recent season was absolutely terrible.

Game consoles are a good way to access your Netflix subscription. With Internet-connected Blu-ray players, smart TVs, and Roku/AppleTV/Chromecast type devices, practically everyone already has some way to get Netflix on a TV. If nothing else, connect a computer to your TV and use Netflix.com

It's been the number one show in all of television for years and OP wasn't aware? I never watched a single episode of Survivor back when it was the number one show but I sure as heck was aware of it.
