Hi,

I am wondering if there are anything that can be used to restore the original skin color after skin discoloration (brown spots even though the zit no longer exists)?

There are plenty of moisturizing lotions which contain vitamin E (check the ingredients). There's also regular vitamins (E).

Someone will come along and mention the ingredient that is supposed to help with this specifically... cause I sure can't think of the name at the moment...

It is an OTC (over the counter, non-prescription) cream that is supposed to really help any kind of scarring, old scars and newer ones.

the only thing that really works the fastest is microdermabrasion or chemical peels that the dermatologist can do. they can work within months. Only problem is they can get to be expensive treatments

I used Retin A micro for some time, and I believe this uses a similar "microdermabrasion" process, because it made my face peel very often. It worked great, but it made my skin a tad uncomfortable.

Unfortunately it didn't work for the pits left in my skin, only the red marks.:frown:

Retin A can be terrible, depending on the strenth you are given. I used in during my teens for acne. My skin was always dry, craked, and irritated, which resulted in the script for Acutane - the horror of that drug was even worse!!!! Also, you really have to be careful in the sun or else you'll get burned big time.
