Zip100 and Win2000(?) problems...

I just set up a Raid array on my Windows 2000 machine. I have both drives as master on the two channels of the Promise controller and i'd like to keep it like that. So here's my configuartion with the onboard ide controller:

Primary Master: CD-Rom
Primary Slave: Zip100
Secondary Master: Burner
Secondary Slave: DVD

Windows recognizes the zip drive properly and everything is pretty much normal, I can even eject the zipdisk through windows! Problem is i can't open the damn disk. I've tried new disks...old disks...everything. It just tells me to insert a zip disk in there even though there already is one in there. I tried removing the jumper block like iomega says and it still won't work. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

try flashing your BIOS. that may not work but at least your tried. you may want to try putting the ZIP drive by itself on one of the controllers. if that still does not work then return or get a new zip drive.

Try this test.

Move your Zip as Primary Master, DO NOT connect CD-ROM. See if you can open your zip disk.

If you succeed, connect the CD-ROM as secondary. Are you still able to read & write the disk?

Thanks for responding guys...well...still a no go...after putting the zip on primary master and the cd on primary slave. i'm currently re-installing win2000...funny thing is it actually detected a disk inside while i was installing it...maybe it'll be ok after. thanks again.
