ZIP Delayed Write Error

authenticate

Senior member
I am getting delayed write errors writing to a old ZIP 100 disks under XP. Reformatting as FAT or FAT32 does not cure the problem. The drive is SCSI. Is it possible that the disks need replacing?

Did you install drivers for it or did you let XP automatically detect it and install it?

Also have you tried to write to it from DOS using zip drive dos drivers? If you don't have any problems doing it in DOS then its not faulty.

Its always a possibility the disk is bad.. try another and see.

I allowed XP to install its own. I haven't installed the DOS drivers. I tried with other disks which seem to be OK apart from the fact that all take forever to complete a full format. I have now trashed 3 disks. Thanks for the advice.
