In all seriousness, while we won't come to an agreement on whether or not all, some, or no Arabs are white we can probably reach a consensus about some other groups, including the people who are being called white by the topic starter.

It doesn't excuse away the European slave trade by simply pointing to other peoples and saying, "look, they did it too!".

He wasn't excusing away anything. He was just stating the fact the Slavery has always existed. And the point made was people in Africa were slaving Long before the "white man" had anything to do with it.

If you want to fight the slave trade there's lots of slavery still going on in the world, knock yourself out fighting that rather than claiming that 'the big bad white man' is responsible for everything that's wrong in the world.
