Yep, heard about this earlier this week. All they need is a baseband radio in it and it beats the living shit out of an iPhone (minus existing app support that is).

They seem to be marketing it as a hardware platform, so it looks like a company is free to license it and throw a radio in it.

Supposedly has X-Fi sound. The dev units should be shipping out in August so we'll have some decent opinions by then hopefully.
