Painkiller sucked hard, save yourself your 10 bucks.

And he strikes again! Hating every game that ever existed!

I might actually go pick up Painkiller now.
I want to shoot shurikens and lightning.

wait! someone else took over my unwarranted title?

And that is why I was able to overtake you, I saw your list, half good half mediocre. You have been dethroned mwahahah!

Lol, yea, it's just little ol me, troll from the PC gaming forum. Ignore the fact that the game at it's peak had like 10 people playing it online. Ignore the CPL pumping MILLIONS of dollars into it to try to make the game competitive only to fail tremendously. Lets all run out and buy it because yahtzee said so. There is near unlimited evidence out there that this game full on failed in virtually every aspect, stuff that half of you won't concede simply because you don't like me being right.

Skace is right though, the stake gun was very very satisfying as a weapon :D

At the very least download the demos before you sink even a dollar into this game.

Well, Pontifex made his list Text

What would yours look like?

Yeah; I'd like to see your list of games you have liked, Maleficus. The last three threads I have seen you post in have been nothing but hate for the game in question, so I imagine the list would be, what, 2, maybe 3 games?

The problem is that Mal apparently thinks all games need to be MP masterpieces to have even a glimmer of hope at being good. I never played PK for the MP, it was just the mindless old school feeling SP ... and the huge bosses. It felt like playing an arcade game, which was fun.

Not even remotely true, but citing the insanely poor MP numbers was a solid way to prove my point. Not even the hobos of gaming would touch this, definitely a gutter title, as evidenced by how quickly it was relegated to the bargain bin. They literally couldn't pay people to play this game.

I don't understand why citing the MP numbers means anything about the SP game? A game can be great SP but awful MP and still be good.

Well, at least you didn't post it in threads in which people were simply trying to talk about something in a game completely unrelated to hating it, and then spew hate.

Anybody logged on to steam? In their 6 'headline' games, 5 is painkiller. Captioned "Includes guns that shoot shurikens and lightning."

It's also now 5 on their top sellers list.

GUYS, Pontifex liked it, there's no way to be good. It's not like he seems to hate every game in existance except this one, making is a shiny gem among shit.

Don't wrry, sarcasm ftw. Im gonna buy it.

I only ever played the Demo and thought it was great at the time. Graphics were very nice and everything just felt right about it. Never did get it for myself, but bought a copy as an XMas gift for a Nephew.

Actually there was people who played this game for money. CPL world tour and some people made a lot of money from it. Fatal1ty and Voo both made a lot of money from playing pk. Also pk's mp was actually very fun to play. It was very fast paced and had a good array of weapons. The only downfall to pk's mp was that it suffered from poor netcode and a few other small things. Here is a link to a pk frag movie Painkiller Euro Tournament

There is a Painkiller demo available on steam, something like 350mb
For those who do not have Steam, you can get the demo on this page

Hopefully this game is good. I would love to find a good game that only costs $10.

Im sure theres a fix, but the demo ran too fast on my laptop (cause its dual core). I looked at a couple video reviews though, seems like the MP might be fun if enough people played. Maybe alternate between TF2 and Painkiller.

With PK you need to disable/turn off one of the cores. I've never had dual core yet so I don't know what that entails, but the playing too fast is a common issue with dual core PCs and PK.

Go into task manager and look for painkiller's .exe process. Set affinity to CPU1 or CPU0, but not both.

Just got this game over the weekend. Great mindless fun! I had bought this a couple of years ago but there was a problem with the install disc so I took it back for a refund and never played the game. Now I've got it again and it's just like the Zero Punctuation review: nonstop fragging fun! :D

PK = awesome.

We need to do an AT PK multiplayer night sometime if there's still some servers up.

I just plunked down the $10. Refreshing change of pace.

I liked it, but it was too difficult to get the secret rooms and items.

Has always run fine on my Core 2 Duo. I think the AMD dual-cores are the only ones that have this issue.

I didn't have a problem with PK on a Core 2 Duo... and I enjoyed PK as well as the two expansions.

No because I played this game on my Opteron without issue, and then on my e8400 as well. Never had a problem so i'm not sure what jjones is referring to

I had the double speed issue with my dual core AMD something, but i believe newer patches fixed it.

Setting affinity to one core works also, if for some reason people are still experiencing it.
