Zero Punctuation: Crysis 2

Wow, he actually liked it. I've been considering buying Crysis 2, haven't gotten around to it yet but now I really wanna buy it.

Going against the grain as usual. Except when it comes to his love of D&D roleplaying games.

Meh, when he reviewed Portal he loved it as much as everybody else... Maybe more. His gripes and praises (if there are any) are usually overblown of course but they're usually pretty valid.

Crysis 2 seems to have gone out of its way to piss of PC gamers.
It's honest observations like that, which is why he is better than any other game reviewer. I don't think any other magazine or web reviewer who accepts paid advertising from game publishers would ever say that.

Lol yeah. Small things like "press start to begin"

That review actually makes me want to get the game.

I already intended to get it, but zero punctuation is always a good listen. I wonder how long I'll have to wait until it goes on sale on steam?

Shortly after that statement he also takes a jab at PC gamer elitism. Both observations are valid IMO.

I like that fact that he gave http://www.hlcomic.com/ a nod when he was talking about the similarities between HL2 and Crysis 2.

Agreed. The only time I've really disagreed with him was when he named Bioshock 2 one of the five worst games of 2010.

Yeah I don't always agree with him either. He seems to loathe Rockstar games where I love them. Probably because they've become very story driven and he thinks that has no place in sandbox games 😛

IIRC he named Red Dead Redemption his second favorite game of 2010, just below Just Cause 2.

If anyone wants to hear my opinion since I have the game and I'm 8 hours or so in it..

Basically like this: cool graphics and effects as well as some mass destruction scenes. game itself feels a little buggy and ported. enemies are DUMB. real dumb. story is a little hard to follow. weapons and suit are cool. imo if the enemy AI was better the game could've been sooo much better. but as it is I would suggest against buying it. I would save the money for other games that are coming out. (diablo 3 plz god 😛)

Yeah, he said he liked it almost like half life 2, and then went to insult how it was so similar, and pretty much every thing else about it. I don't think he really liked it all that much.

If he says he liked a game, he generally actually liked it. That's the nice thing about his reviews he points out the shit that's wrong with games stuff that almost all over reviewers ignore and proceed to give any game made from a big publisher 9/10.

ZP is great because he always has lots of bad things to say about every game, justifying my assumption that most games are crap and keeping me from buying any more games I don't have time to play. Hopefully there is enough negative is the Crysis 2 review to keep me from buying until it's at least <$20, in a year.

The part about the statue of liberty always being blown to shit cracked me up.

And I also heard about the nano suites that they always have max strength enabled and every one has one. I thought that was the whole fun of the game?

If you take the one line he says about how he almost liked it as much as Half Life 2 out of context, then, sure it sounds like he likes the game. If you listen to anything else he says in the review, it sounds like he barely enjoyed it, and that the only reason that he really liked playing it was because it's one of the few mediocre games in a sea of shitty games lately.

In contrast to some of his scathing reviews, it was relatively positive. It's certainly not his favorite, but in comparing it to HL2, saying he enjoyed it more than he expected, liked how it was paced, etc.

You're the only one with a nano suit. That's sort of what the entire game is about.
