Only a Mac is powerful enough to divide 0 by 0 ... DUH!!!!!!
NT systems crash when this is attempted. :p


0.9 = 1 - 0.1
0.999 = 1 - 0.001
0.9999 = 1 - 0.0001

As you add more 9's, the difference between the value and 1 grows smaller and smaller. Since the 9's continue forever, the difference is infinitely small.

infinitely small == 0

That is:
0.000...001 <--An infinite number of 0's, then one.

But nothing comes after infinity, so we drop the 1.

hence:
1 - 0.9999... = 0.000...
1 - 0.9999... = 0

so:
1 = 0.9999...

I don't have a degree in education, yet I hope this explanation was sufficient.
