so what is the official US release date for this? IMDB shows 1/11/12, but I saw a trailer for it this past Saturday when I went to see Lincoln (great moview BTW, DDL is the man!) and at the end of the trailer it said "in theaters December".....

and to add - who's excited about this movie? I also find it funny how the movie has a weapon camo pack for Medal of honor: Warfighter

Limited release in December; wide release in January.

If you want to see a fantasy version, see Hobbit.

I'm going to read some popular books on this topic. I'm currently reading "No Easy Day." Pretty apolitical first hand account.

Oh god, I just saw the Hurt Locker bitch made this movie too, immediately uninterested in seeing it now, unless she's using a completely different method of filming that doesn't look like a bomb is going off whenever the camera moves. So lame, guess I'll just read the book.

It clearly shows 11 January 2013 (USA) 🙄

Kathryn Bigelow

also directed

Near Dark (considered a Vampire Classic despite perhaps a weak ending by a lot of horror movie buffs It re-imagined vampires as ruthless redneck murderers instead of seductive pretty-emo-boys) 90% on rotten tomatoes. I watch it at least once a year around Halloween time. Bill Paxton's performance is awesome in this movie. Yeah I pretty much love this movie.

Point Break

K-19: The Widowmaker

Strange Days

as well as The Hurtlocker.

More often than I have found movies directed by her that I have seen worth seeing.

I am definitely looking forward to this movie.

did not know she directed point break (a movie I saw when I was 4 so I automatically like it). Was not a fan of hurt locker tho. Seemed like 'Crash'. Trying to be profound, but misses the mark, at least for me.

Wow didn't know she did Strange Days. I thought it was entirely James Cameron. Guess not. That's one of the most underrated sci-fi movies in the last 20 years. Very dark, gritty, movie with excellent acting.

I am watching that movie right now, never seen it before...

fucking awesome movie, holy shit. Never thought this would have been pulled off as a even mediocre made for tv movie, but this is one of my favs in the last year

Excellent movie. One of the bests I've seen in a while. I don't really care for the Oscars, but the main girl that plays Maya should win best actress if not at least get nominated for it.
