Thought I'd update this thread since Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition is finally out today.

# Ultimate edition additions: The already highly praised gameplay has received an overhaul including combat rebalancing, interface enhancements, improved animations, new modes, and new gameplay content.
# New cooperative play modes: Enlist a friend to take on enemy waves in Tower Challenge, a special survival mode that offers additional replayability beyond the single-player campaign. Play cooperatively online, or locally via split screen. With leaderboards to rank you against your friends, the challenge never ends!

Instead of creating a new thread I thought I'd revive this old one.

ACE Team's first-person face-puncher Zeno Clash will hit Xbox Live Arcade in a "vastly enhanced and much improved" Ultimate Edition, publisher Atlus has announced.

Multiplayer will arrive with cooperative play for the Tower Challenge gauntlet mode, and "New modes, new features and added content" as well as "a series of improvements based on fan feedback" are promised for the "definitive version" of ACE's surreal fighter.

Released for PC in April, Zeno Clash is a short but sweet romp through the captivating fantasy world of Zenozoik, sporting delightfully meaty melee combat.

No price has been announced for the XBLA release, which will hit in spring 2010. A sequel is in the works, said to feature "open ended gameplay" with RPG elements.

I suspect most of the ATCG crowd will not be into this game but I thought it was pretty fun and unique for the PC.

while the story/art style is interesting, the gameplay is pretty meh. I have it for PC. the melee fighting suffers from the same problems every melee fps game suffers from. you can't judge how close you are, so some attack hit and others don't. the enemies always seem to react faster than you can as well.

My main issue with Zeno Clash was that I HATED that projectile weapons were in the game. It made some parts of the game really annoying especially around the end. Don't bother trying to get into the story which is ..there. Its so odd but a neat first try from ACE. Hopefully they'll take all the feedback from the original game and improve it.

This game is finally out today on XBLA. Worth a look at the trial at least if you are at all interested in something completely different.
