Zenfone 3

I'm liking the 6.8" ultra, yeah, I'm a size queen 😛

My phone does double duty as a GPS, was using a tablet in a floor mount now, but if I can use a (barely) pocketable phone, I'm a happy camper.

Want to see some reviews to ensure the chipset is fast enough to not make me crazy.

The camera's bigger than a 2 megapixel, so that's definitely overkill, much more camera than I need obviously 😉

Although not sure if I want the ultra or the Snapdragon 820 variant (Deluxe)... :hmm:

Loved my zp2! This 3 looks great! I wonder if it has quick charge 2 or 3. It's hard to go back to any phone that doesn't charge within 1hr now

Odd that the Zenfone 3 Ultra had to cut some specs compared to the Deluxe. Bigger screen but slower SOC and less ram. The Deluxe looks like a hell of a phone though.

I actually like the base ZP3, not as much as the Axon 7 but it's a nice phone.

Comparing the base ZP3 to the Axon 7 doesn't make sense to me.

Of course you're going to like the flagship specs of the Axon 7 more than the midrange offering of the base ZP3. ZP3 Deluxe is the direct comparison to the Axon 7, not the base

A phone larger than 5.5" is too big for my taste. I like the look of the ZP3 Deluxe but I just don't want to have to deal with the size. 🙁

Understandable, it's just an odd comparison to draw between a flagship tier device and a lower price midrange. Since the ZP3 Deluxe is 5.7", it's so close to that 5.5" limit that I'd have to hold each to decide which feels better. At that point everything about the phone design can affect how large it actually feels in the hand. Bezel design and even the curvature of the back can affect how easy it is to use for me... but these phones aren't going to be the type to have store demos so I'd unfortunately be stuck buying blind.

YES! This is unfortunately why I will likely have to stick with my gut feeling about the size being the limiting factor without ever holding the phone. There's no way I could drop $500 or more and feel confident that I was making the right decision. I know 5.5" is good for me based on almost 2 years of using a OnePlus One.

My zp2 works quite well however the camera is absolutely terrible. So really hoping the camera on the zp3 is actually worth using

Would a Xiaomi Max not be a better options, or Huawei?
They do have better cameras in general..

What would be the advantage of an Asus phone?

Did you read it? The Zenfone Deluxe is using sony's new camera sensor, and they're typically rated at the top of the pack for camera sensors.

Ah, that makes sense.
So, if my carrier where I live has LTE on 2 bands (2100 i think and 800mhz), and a phone does not support one of these (800), I should still be able to have LTE/4G (albeit on an inferior frequency)?
