Yes, but time to market is key, and N3E just came out (and only on ipad lol). If N3E was delayd for some reason, Strix Halo would be delayed too. Please, let me exhibit my ignorance ... ... I'll try to achieve this through some weird (but genuine) questions/thoughts ...
A) Some of you previously said ... " 'Strix Halo' will be pretty expensive ... " ... ... OK, then ... ... Apple's M4 will also be pretty expensive, but built over N3E ... since 'Halo' is going to be such expensive it would have been great to be manufactured on N3E node too ...
Not really, there's nothing left in silicon for you to beta test when you are buying an iphone. The more correct analogy would be - Apple is "Priority Boarding" a nodeB) Would it be too 'creative' to consider Apple users as ... TSCM 'beta testers' ????
Memory BW constraints will only be more evident with >16C Zen5 derivatives on AM5.I wonder if the recent introduction of EPYC 4004 on AM5 opens the door for high core count Zen5c and Zen6c processors to be introduced onto the platform (past 16 cores)
It's something that only datacenter hosters can really say. They're the ones buying this product. Is there a single difference between "EPYC 4004" and the former "Ryzen Pro" products?
4004 in data centers? I'd be surprised. It's something that only datacenter hosters can really say. They're the ones buying this product.

Nah you find Ryzen Pros all over the place now, including in mini things. It's something that only datacenter hosters can really say. They're the ones buying this product.
I'm talking about epyc 4004Nah you find Ryzen Pros all over the place now, including in mini things.
EPYC 4004 and 4005 (to get back on topic of this thread) serve two purposes, which AMD enumerated on their very own press briefing slide deck:4004 in data centers? I'd be surprised.
This reminds me of the launch of original Ryzen, when AMD named their chipsets <letter>3xx to one-up Intel, who had <letter>2xx at the time. Intel's current year Core Ultra lineup will be named 2xx, so the obvious solution is to name yours 3xx lolSo Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365 are allegedly the updated names for Strix Point, and of course still no leaked serious benchmarks 10 days before some disclosure...

5 years?Nice, jumping straight to number 300 so they can change the numbering scheme again in just 5 years.
Sigh: "Ryzen AI 9 HX 370"So Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365 are allegedly the updated names for Strix Point, and of course still no leaked serious benchmarks 10 days before some disclosure...

Yeah the reasoing was particularily odd (from the same computerbase article, translated):Nice, jumping straight to number 300 so they can change the numbering scheme again in just 5 years.
Update 24.05.2024 07:57 watch
Shortly before the expected performance of Computex 2024, Asian media agree that AMD has refined its name. Accordingly, the new generation should not start at 100, but at 300, in order to be sorted directly behind Intel's Core Ultra 100 and 200. The official tenor is that it should represent the generation of the NPU better. Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and Ryzen AI 9 365 are now named among others.
