Those next 24 hours are going to be so hype. We enter it with a Nvidia pres so bad it's shameful that Jensen had it. And we're gonna follow with AMD and QC?

You know the hype is reaching max when people start counting down the hours/minutes.
Unless you want to hospitalize yourself, absolutely do not take a drink 🥃 every time an AMD rep says AI, because they may actually beat NVIDIA at the number of times they say it.

At this point everyone is immune or passed out drunk.
What's more interesting to me is how Lisa will handle the gigantic list of things she has to present:
- Turin
- Granite Ridge
- Strix Point AI
- Strix Point (actual useful parts of it)
- Tons of laptops
- Tons of new partners
- MI350X
- gotta talk about AI
- gotta talk about AI partners (Broadcom, Meta)
- gotta talk about RDNA 3.5 not being RDNA 3 without mentioning how borked RDNA 3 was

I consider myself a decent presenter, and if you told me "90 mins for all that", I'd be seriously sweating.

Never seen an AMD presentation before? They talk but not that much. And I don't think the whole 90 minutes is gonna be Lisa talking.

Friendly reminder to some people who may be staying awake. Set an alarm and go get some rest, people.
To people in Europe I recommend to just sleep and watch the already well condensed summaries in the morning.

This thing starts at 3:30 AM and ends around 4:20. And crawling through he internet buzz (this thread included) will keep you awake at least for an hour more.

You'll lose nothing reading up the relevant parts in the morning, but won't throw away your productivity at work/school on monday

They don't make Nvidia sign NDA's for this?

Are you kidding? This is a huge victory for AMD.

Like it or not, NV is the premium brand. The premium brand presenting their stuff in platforms using your chips is worth messing up your own schedule a little. When NV marketing drone #126 sent that email to AMD asking if they could leak a few details in their presentation, the guy responsible for responding hit Y so hard they broke their keyboard.

And while NV presented the name, the actual details were hidden enough that this just acts as a nice teaser for AMD.

This thing starts at 3:30 AM and ends around 4:20.

Schedule says 3:30 and ends at 5:00 (in CEST). Where did you get the 4:20 from?

That's a reasonable and caring argument.
Unfortunately it's also saying "do not binge watch the most hype event in years and enjoy the hype train crashing with everyone, just go to bed and eat it reheated the next day".
There's some things most of us hated hearing from our parents and never started doing.

Yes, simple AI is so yesterday. They also thought about Smart AI, but the dog in the marketing department started howling in desperation, so the humans relented.

I can't wait for specialty brands moving away from Artificial Intelligence to Organic Intelligence.

Just play some game before AMD :p
The issue is if the slides do leak and I show up to this thread at the start of the Keynote, there is a good chance y’all would be talking about IPC and performance targets and then all the surprise would be gone :(

Does not even come close with an outside chance the Tories get utterly destroyed but that is a discussion for a different forum

Agreed. I refuse to watch videos longer than 10 minutes unless there are chapters. Even then it's close. This is why I miss articles rather than youtubers. At least GamersNexus has gone back to include articles after the videos.

This is one of the things I actually look forward to AI being useful for - "hey Siri, watch this Youtube video for me and provide a written transcript that elides all the ads, [once Google finally figures out how to make me actually see any] talk about sponsors, and self-promotional crap"

I generally refuse to watch Youtube videos that are just talking - and I've found it is safe to assume that if you're given a link to Youtube video as a source of "news" 99% of the time it is pushing conspiracy theories and/or highly slanted partisan bs. If Google ever succeeds in making me see ads on Youtube with either Linux/Firefox/uBlock or iPhone/Safari/FirefoxFocus I'll give it up completely unless/until I can get Siri to watch it for me. Then Google will be out to figure out a way to prevent AIs from watching Youtube - good luck find a CAPTCHA for Youtube that AIs can't do but doesn't annoy humans to the point of near insanity lol!
