Yes and the left portrays Cheney as a coward who has gone into hiding. (They dont realize its for security reasons)

Dude.. don't be so naive...

HE WAS PAID - he is now owed some sort of stupid favor that will send him and all the others like him straight to hell...

What proof do you have??

Was the Senator who switched from Republican to Independant in ME (I forget his name) also paid?? You sound like a angry democrat who cant stand a fellow member at the GOP convention.

New in 2001? WTF are smoking, he's been in the senate for 19 years.

Uh completely wrong.

Zell Miller started his career as a mayor, then became a state senator.

He served as Lt Gov from 1975-1991. He was Governor from 1991 to 1999, and he was appointed to the Senate after Paul Coverdell died in July 2000. In November 2000 he was elected to finish out Coverdells term.

Zell Miller made his comments as a very junior Senator going solely off the "offical" glazed over biography every senator has.

No Democrat here.. I actually HATE Politics.. Why?? Because Politics in its current state is counterproductive.. they spend more time smearing .. fighting .. covering each others asses... kissing each others assess.. etc etc.. instead of DOING WHAT IS RIGHT.

I'd have to agree with that. Wouldn't it be great if there were no parties, just candidates running on issues and the people know what each person is about and voting for the person that most closely matches their views.

Dude, when was politic is a good nature sport? It's always been like that since the inception of US govt. Our forefather did that (they even went dueling :) ), modern day politicians just evolve into a better organized, better attacking/propaganda machine. But the basic principle is always about what you just describe: smearing, fighting, kiss asses, cover each other asses. It's because the system has been set up this way or been evolving into this way. You always play the game by the rule that been set up.
IT's just the degree of how far they went that's different from time to time or from one party to another. Right now GOP is just a better organized smearing, attacking, propaganda machine than the Democrat, and you should actually appreciate the current situation, because if the Dems ever catch up, watch out, then everything will be 10X nastier...
of course us the masses could demand that they change their way, but masses are as intelligent as the lowest common denominator and could easily be manipulated or swayed or broken up into groups/pieces.
That's why no incentive to ever change the system.

If there's no party, then most of the candidates either have to be rich to finance their campaign or they are from bigger states or someone with enough name recognition (eg. movie star), or someone who is finance by some big shots or corporation thus becoming beholden to special interest, not necesarilly someone who is a good decent politician. I think parties politic is actually fine, just maybe more than 2-party system like what we currently have. But then US population is really not that diverse in term their political view, well at least not reaching the critical mass yet (or ever will be?) to warrant out of box party like green party or religious party like in europe that could really be competitive with the big 2 parties.

Zell is a batshit crazy bastard. Did you see him challenge Chris Matthews to a duel? Then he pretty much said he wished they were face to face so he could kick his ass...

And this letter from Jimmy Carter to Zell Miller:

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.c..._2004_09_05.php#003438
You seem to have forgotten that loyal Democrats elected you as mayor and as state senator. Loyal Democrats, including members of my family and me, elected you as lieutenant governor and as governor. It was a loyal Democrat, Lester Maddox, who assigned you to high positions in the state government when you were out of office. It was a loyal Democrat, Roy Barnes, who appointed you as U.S. Senator when you were out of office. By your historically unprecedented disloyalty, you have betrayed our trust.
Great Georgia Democrats who served in the past, including Walter George, Richard Russell, Herman Talmadge, and Sam Nunn disagreed strongly with the policies of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and me, but they remained loyal to the party in which they gained their public office. Other Democrats, because of philosophical differences or the race issue, like Bo Callaway and Strom Thurmond, at least had the decency to become Republicans.

Everyone knows that you were chosen to speak at the Republican Convention because of your being a ?Democrat,? and it?s quite possible that your rabid and mean-spirited speech damaged our party and paid the Republicans some transient dividends.

Perhaps more troublesome of all is seeing you adopt an established and very effective Republican campaign technique of destroying the character of opponents by wild and false allegations. The Bush campaign?s personal attacks on the character of John McCain in South Carolina in 2000 was a vivid example. The claim that war hero Max Cleland was a disloyal American and an ally of Osama bin Laden should have given you pause, but you have joined in this ploy by your bizarre claims that another war hero, John Kerry, would not defend the security of our nation except with spitballs. (This is the same man whom you described previously as ?one of this nation's authentic heroes, one of this party's best-known and greatest leaders -- and a good friend.")

I, myself, never claimed to have been a war hero, but I served in the navy from 1942 to 1953, and, as president, greatly strengthened our military forces and protected our nation and its interests in every way. I don?t believe this warrants your referring to me as a pacificist.

Zell, I have known you for forty-two years and have, in the past, respected you as a trustworthy political leader and a personal friend. But now, there are many of us loyal Democrats who feel uncomfortable in seeing that you have chosen the rich over the poor, unilateral preemptive war over a strong nation united with others for peace, lies and obfuscation over the truth, and the political technique of personal character assassination as a way to win elections or to garner a few moments of applause. These are not the characteristics of great Democrats whose legacy you and I have inherited.

Very well-said, Mr. President. Very well-said.

I agree...very well said. He managed to put his idiocy and stupidity on full display for all to see. To summarize:

1. Throw your beliefs and convictions out the window so that you can say you are a loyal democrat like your daddy, your daddy's daddy, his daddy, his daddy, etc.
2. Lie about your accomplishments while in elected office (greatly strengthened our military forces and protected our nation and its interests in every way?)
3. Go along with the rest of the crowd you claim to be a member of. Be the best sheep you can be.

Tripleshot says that Georgians could have done much better than having Miller as their senator. I see Miller as a significant upgrade compared to this Georgia clown.
