My job tonight is an easy one: to present to you one of this nation's authentic heroes, one of this party's best-known and greatest leaders ? and a good friend.

In his 16 years in the Senate, John Kerry has fought against government waste and worked hard to bring some accountability to Washington.

Early in his Senate career in 1986, John signed on to the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Deficit Reduction Bill, and he fought for balanced budgets before it was considered politically correct for Democrats to do so.

John has worked to strengthen our military, reform public education, boost the economy and protect the environment. Business Week magazine named him one of the top pro-technology legislators and made him a member of its "Digital Dozen."

I'm not sure if this was posted, but it's very funny with respect to last nights attack.

Is Zel Miller lying now or was he in 2001 when he called Kerry a National Hero who is a great supporter of our military?

Miller was just on Hannity and Combs claiming that he didn't research the fact sheet he was given in 2001 and everything he said then was wrong. How can you believe anyone that says things without first making sure they are correct.

No, all this stuff people keep bringng up about Zell to backup claims that he is a turncoat happened pre-911. He favors the 'black & white' stance towards terrorism. He was horrified by Daschle and other Dems seeing the terrorism as 'complex' and making it political. In his own words he wants to 'bomb the hell out of them.' He views Bush as being the man to best defend the nation against terrorists.

Defeating the terrorists is the major motivation for him supporting Bush. He just thinks Bush will do a better job than Kerry.

Who is going to base their vote on this guy anyway? Further, will you believe anything he says if he returns to the Dems for the next election?

Evidently the RNC thought he would attract some swing votes, or they wouldn't have made him their keynote speaker.

Hispolitical career is over. He was eve nkicked out of the front row seats within the group of speakers that preceeded Bush tonight at this convention. Even Laura Bush wants this ASSHOLE gone. I feel sad for the good people of Georgia, having this puke as their senator. They surely could have done much better than this. I hope they do better for themselves next time.

Has Laura commented on Miller's vicious diatribe?

The Israelis feel the same way. Drop bombs on em. Who cares if civilians get killed? Its their own damn fault.

Shhh, you're not supposed to make Israel out to be anything but the victim or you'll be accused of anti-semitism.

I doubt that'll happen - the DNC just ran an ad here in GA blasting Zell.

You are the most uninformed person in the world, Todd. Zell Miller has been in senate for 4 years and he did not know much about Kerry.

Lets get it over with: The reason why Zell supports Bush is because he feels Bush has balls to take action against our enemies with the approval of France. Thats it. End of story.

That was hilarious when Stephen Colbert offered to duel during the "Second Commercial Break of Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn."

The Daily Show Rules.

Maureen Dowd thinks Zells "preformance" actually helps the republicans, because the left likes to demonize Cheney and portray him as crazy, etc. After Zell spoke, a calm collected and articulate Cheney spoke and came off human. Vastly different than the democrats try and portray him.
