Noow the question is: If you owned a company and were in charge of protecting its programs, trademarks, assets and investments, woudlnt you be alittle pissed that some POS software was out there taking advantage of a network you worked very hard to create?

I dont really care one way or the other. I use AIM once a month(maybe) and never use trillian.

probably, so it's probably a good thing i'm not AOL 🙂

as a consumer, i look for my best interests, not those of the firms i purchase from.

Send a comment to AOL here. I told them that because of their actions I would convince everyone I knew to uninstall both AIM and ICQ and switch to MSN, Y!, or trillian. Let them know you're pissed and you'll fight back!

whoever is on AIM doesn't deserve to be on my Buddies List.. err, i mean on my ICQ list.

This Internet mentality concerning chatting software has got to stop. AOL created the software, but more importantly, they put time, effort, and MONEY into maintaining the AIM servers.

AOL doesn't owe the public free AIM servers. I love Trillian, but I'm not going to fault AOL for trying to stop the other chat programs from connecting. We're using up another company's resources, simple as that.

I challenge anyone to provide a good argument as to why AOL is wrong to stop Trillian. There are plenty of reasons AOL is bad in general, but regarding this issue, they're totally in the right.

Doesn't matter if they're right or not, they still shouldn't do it. IM's should all talk to each other. It's assinine that they don't already, and it's mostly AOL's fault. Like I said, if they continue, I'll make it my mission to get everyone I know off of AIM/ICQ (alright, so I don't know too many peeps on AIM, my friends are smarter than that, but ICQ's another story.)

**sigh** mine is down again, aparently the .722 is out now (up from the .721 which was supposed to fix aol) and I just got the 722 version, aim isn't working for me on it...

why must aol be so stupid?
