So my Blue from American Express card doesn't provide price-protection (Student card, that's what I was told, anyway). And I want to buy a Pocket PC -- today, preferably.
But I know next to nothing about these price-protection plans... and they don't seem eager to give out information. So any help you wonderful people can give me would be MOST appreciated.
Here's the deal: I'm currently looking into buying the HP Jornada 567/568 (difference only in whether you buy it online or in a b&m). I can get the 567 from Dell for $461 if I buy it today.
The 568 is $650 everywhere... but Dell has it onsale(10% off, so $584.10), but out of stock. So here's the problem: I want to buy it from BestBuy, rather than Dell, because then for $60 I can get into their 3-year warrantee program... considering in 18 months they estimate an entire new generation of Pocket PCs will be out, seems like a good idea... in case my device... "breaks." (Which it will, I have that kind of luck).
So what I want to know is: would it be possible to price match against the Dell price for the 567 provided I could also provide documentation from HP saying that the only difference between the two is that one is sold online and one offline? Would I be able to pricematch again Dell's 10% off price? I have a page to print that mentions the 10% off discount, and total with shipping and handling, but does not mention the item being out of stock. What's your advice, folks?
Thanks.
