The one thing i have against this mouse is the buttons are hard coded to certain keyboard strokes and thusly they rely on game's configuration to reprogram their function.

Yeah, they feel good, but were sucky as replacement mice. Would have had to reprogram every game individually to make it work. It got relagated to back up duty instead.

I have it and like it. It takes a while to get used to and felt downright crappy at first, but now I love it. I tried going back to my old Razer Diamondback after using this and the Razer felt very weak. This feels more "solid" in your hand...good for FPS games.

thanks, i got in on one. i hated my razer diamondback and wanted something with more bulk. i think this might do.

Sandio 3D Mouse, ZBoard Reaper Mouse and a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 for 45 bucks shipped.

Besides the the mice, wanted to pick up a cheap cam. I figure I can try two mice and I wear out a mouse in a few years, so I'll be set for the next 4-6 years.

My favorite mouse is still the Logitech MX 310. I really don't understand why more mouse makers who make mice with gaming in mind won't put thumb and finger buttons on BOTH sides of the mouse. (I tend to accidentally hit the wrong one if there are two buttons on one side.)

Now that wireless mice are all the rage it's hard to find sales on worthy corded gaming mice, which is very sad.

I bought my first Razer mouse, the Diamondback Plasma, from a GoGamer deal. Loved it, and have been using Razer mice since then. Recently the Plasma was on Woot! (maybe during WootOff) as respiffed for $15 a pop, so I bought three.

Yeah, GoGamer seems to have sales, but forget about finding a nice wired mouse on sale at a local bricks 'n' mortar store now.

Target had the MX518 discounted in some locations. It was $27.98 at my store but thinking I might check again today to see if it's hit that $9.98 price point.

ok,i got the mouse and it works well and feels great but i do have a big gripe with the side buttons being mapped already and can't be customized as keystrokes. also, i cannot use their mouse software because it hangs all my games. i'm stuck with the side buttons being home/end/backspace when they really should've been mouse buttons 4,5 to begin with. at least it feels better than the diamondback.

btw, anybody know of any good softwares that i can customize this mouse with that won't hang my games?
