ZAP!

I have a micro-suede couch at home, if I stand up too quickly I can make half inch sparks from my finger!

Yeah, definitely hate the zapping. My hair even stands up on occassion (long striaght hair). Damn those free moving electrons.

You must not be well grounded! 😉

It depends more on weather conditions than anything. Everybody generates static just by moving.

They honestly probably didn't have as much of a hard time with it, although I'm sure it was experienced. Guess it depends on how far back you're talking. 😉

Our insulated shoes help keep a building static charge. Our synthetic etc fibers also help it to build. Less metal in the environment to touch....

They probably experienced the simple phenomenon of body hair being attracted to another object....

Have any of you that have fuzzy blankets on your bed ever lifted the blanket in the dark and saw a myriad of tiny arcs? That's awesome..

i have a friend at work that gets zapped all the time. the worst is when he gets out of his car....i can hear him get zapped from a few cars away.

Only after a front passes through here, and we get some dry air. 90% of the time, the humidity here makes static electricity a none issue 🙂
