Zalman ZM80C-HP & Asus9800XT???

I wonder if the Zalman ZM80C-HP fit on the Asus9800XT...
They don't say anything on the Zalman site about it.

Thanks

Check in Zalman's fourms, I'm sure it's been asked there at least once, if not post the question there also.

Isn't the XT the same size as a regular 9800 series?

Hardware wise it has "ATI-sanctioned Dynamic Overclocking" which means that it will automatically overclock itself up to 50(?)Mhz over the stock speed, depending on core temp. Heatsink wise it's just bigger.

That being said I should think there isn't a problem using the ZM80C-HP on this card.

Yup I'll buy the fan too..

What is you're IDLE temp and LOAD temp with this???
Mine is around 50IDLE and 59-60LOAD at 432/398.... (Can't go higher without seeing artifacts)

Got no ideal what the temp is,only the 9800XT and 9600XT allows to monitor temps.

I have a 9800non pro so no temp monitoring for me,it seems to run cool enough but i didn't buy it for better cooling I bought it because the stock fan was driving me nuts with it's high pitch whine.

I now run fanless and I love it. 🙂

Ok thanks,

But I never installed this type of cooler before. Is it hard to install???

I cant say it was very hard but it does take some skill, the most important thing is to RTFM!!!! 🙂

Read the manual very carefully and take it very slow, and if you use the provided thermal paste be sure not to put too much on your 9800 chip because I put a bit too much & it got on the the core, this paste must be conductive becaue my card would not start up after.

So less is better or better yet use non conductive arctic ceramique or silver. 🙂

I used arctic ceramique on mine after removing that other crap & it works fine.
