I too, am curious to how this compares to the NV Silencer 5 on the GeForce 6800 GT/Ultra series. So far, I've heard vague comments that it was slightly better, but no definitive answers. Can anyone share any information on comparison between these two VGA coolers?

OK....so I'll revive this thread.....I'm looking into a NV5 silence rev 02 or a VF700-CU

My 6800U currently Idles at 60C and load in HL2 and BF:V (prepare yourself for a shocker) is 85C....THAT f*cking bad. Yes. So I'm going to get a VF700-CU, because it seems to be listed as doing a little better.....although I wouldn't think that, since the nv5 vents the hot air outside....

oh well, I have a PCI blower unit (called a blower, but it moves a fair amount of air with little noise...maybe 25DB or around .7-.8 sone) and I'll try that in conjuntion with my VF700-CU to see how I do....I'll let everyone know how it goes!

Anything, I say ANYTHING is better than a 85C load....it crashes if it gets any hotter (and it has gone a bit higher twice now, and caused a system crash.) My question: is that just a complete hardware or software failure due to the temp, or is my card going into "ultra" protection mode? (pun intented)

You guys used it for 6600GTs. How bout the new highend cards like the 7800GTX or GT. Will the VF700 cool newer and faster cards just as well?

Look to Zalman for that answer. From what I gather however, the 7800GTX doesn't run that hot....not as hot as the 6800 ultras at least.

Mounting holes look like they may be the same.
