Have the Zalman for my 9800pro. Upgrading to 1900xtx this week. Is the Zalman going to fit? Is it even worth it to do so?

It should fit and be quite a bit quieter than the stock X1900 heatsink.

I was afraid of that. The cooling design on the 1900 series is obviously a lot more intricate than the simple stock HS/F of the 9800. Thanks.

I would disagree with that, given that the AlCu is only a few degrees worse than the Cu, those reviews floating around show the Cu doing a pretty reasonable job on x1x00 series cards iirc...

Not quite sure about that, I had a AlCu on my old X1800 and it cooled very poorly. It was idling at around 50C and was hitting way above 90 under load.

I slapped the stock cooler back on and turned it up to 100 percent at all times and temps were a lot better at the sacrafice of noise. With the fan turned up 100 percent, my current X1900 idles at 40C and loads at around 70C.
