Zalman introduced its own model of PC case, TNN500A, enabling to design "almost noiseless" systems being completely fanless. Shipments are scheduled to mid-September. The price is still open, but might make $1180. The case features proprietary 300W fanless power supply. All hot components, including CPU, GPU, HDD, etc. are connected by a single heat dissipating main. Sized 400x286x607mm, TNN500A serving the role of heatsink itself weighs 21kg. The case is made of 99% aluminium and provides 3 x 5.25" bays and 4 x 3.5" bays. According to makers, The performance of CPU cooling block is 150W/s that is enough for 3.06GHz Pentium 4; 50W/s of graphics card cooler meets GeForce FX requirements. By the way TNN stands for 'Totally No Noise'.)

A Zalman representative has confirmed that this is their product. Here's the post from Zalman's "Web Board" on 7/16/2003:
====================================
Thank you very much for your fervent interest in Zalman's upcoming product.

Q: What about the price?
A: It is very likely that the official retail price of TNN 500A cooling system will be determined as about 900~1,100 US dollars.

Q: Where can I buy it?
A: Zalman's dustributors all over the world will have it stocked in the near future. When the time comes, contact Zalman distributors in your country by referring to 'Order' section on the upper right corner of this screen.

Q: When (can I buy it) ?
A: We are going to launch the TNN cooling system around September. Then, you will be able to order it via or to distributors in your country. Please be patient until the time comes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jinkook Kim/ZALMAN

I don't know if this is a repost, but I already tried searcing for TNN, zalman, and fanless. Decided to post for those who haven't seen this yet..

1000!!!! holy hell...... I would rather buy the best water cooling system on earth then to spend that much for a silent comp.

Just wonderin, can u stick a box fan on side of that case and overclock?:p

this might be interesting for sound production/recording studios, where excess noise can be a problem.

maybe zalman should release a "lite" version with a "noiseless fan system" and drop the price to like 300-400, comparable to a high-end water cooling/phase change system. then again, you might as well get those instead, but who knows, maybe they'll think of something cool.

lol, vanity aside, I find this case aestethicly unpleasing, too much money (I'll buy a "makes-a-little-noise-but-isn't-too-loud" brand spanking new computer for over $1100. Hell, maybe two!), it appears to be a PITA to use (this is mainly because of my "anti-front-of-case-door" stance. I hate front panel doors), will not be compatible with every motherboard (chances are, I'll have an incompatible board, not that I would want this monstrosity), any time I see the word "proprietary" anything I am immediatly suspicious, it weighs like 46 pounds - empty! Oh yeah, and it's ugly. As I mentioned in another thread about this case the one benefit I do see is the casters (which add their own level of ugly to this case), but I sure do need casters on my PC that are able to hold one ton. Lord knows I am always putting 2,000 pounds worth of stuff on my PC cases and crushing the life out of them. This will really save my components in the future... ;) Did I mention the thing is ugly?

Think about it though... For a HTPC. Absolute silence in your home theater.

Of course, where in the rack will it fit? LOL

I would rather have a phase changer and a much faster computer with very little noise...

When I am watching a movie or listening to tunes thgouth my HTPC the 25 decibles from a very quiet PC won't be noticable unless Superman is coming over for a visit. I'd sooner have the noise than that thing anyhow.
