This has gone on sale quite often for this price for the last several months. Biggest con about this particular heatsink (and probably why it's clearancing so often) is that it is apparently a pain in the ass to mount. Other than that, it's a good price for a pretty good cooler.

yap, its a beats, wont fit in most cases without giving you a few cuts and bruises... I used it in, or tried to use it in Antec 300, Sonata and P280. I had it, gave it away for free to a co-worker, how in turn gave it away to someone else...

Price is good though, for $10 anyone can do their own experimentation and then toss it in trash if need be. Performance wise it was no better than CM 212 in my experience. I only OC for experimental proposes, never run OCed for extended period of time.

I think the mount determines the performance in this case. With a proper mount, it's a lot better than the CM 212 Evo.

Also, height wise, it's typical around 160mm, which is the standard among super-coolers.

If one can manage to mount this thing correctly, I am having a hard time figuring out what's a better cooler < $30.

To get maximum potential out of this cooler, drop the stock included middle fan to 900rpm, and mount 2x Thermalright TY-140s @ 1250rpms (or TY-150s at 1000 rpm) and you'll instantly have supercooler performance without the high noise levels.
