Zalman CNPS-7000B-CU cpu fan for x2 question

I have the Epox Ep 9NPA+ Ultra board with the zalman CNPS-7000B-CU on my 3700+. I am going to be changing out my cpu to an x2 4400+. Will my fan work with the x2 or do I need a different one?

I have almost the same setup.

Your Epox is a 939 socket. The Zalman will NOT fit the new AM2 socket.

I finally bought an Arctic Cooling 64 which fits a AM2 socket and a 939 socket (providing you reinstall the original braket taken out when you installed the Zalman).

🙂

Yup, yer fine - you can even do some oc'ing w/that Zalman. Extreme oc'ing may call for the 7700, though.

Uh, I've had my 3800X2 at 2.7ghz@1.45V with a Zalman 7000B

Wow - I was only surmising at needing a 7700 - haven't gotten past 2.3GHz on my 7000 at stock voltage (still toying with it), so I didn't know how high you could go with higher voltages.

What idle/load temps you running?
